Fault so:undefined symbol: -ZN11eMESSAGEBOXC1E7SETUPSTRINGSO

You get this fault when the versions of the (current) image and the (older) plugin are not compiled against the same Enigma!

Take care that you have the last version of the plugin, is this not
available then is there but 1 possibility and that is to wait for the new plugin which can handle latest Enigma...

After Uploading new Firmware, the DreamBox will not boot up anymore!

First try to upload new firmware, should this fail try uploading an older version. If this fails to, follow the instruction listed below:

Start on your PC HyperTerminal and use the following instructions:

Bits per second : 115200
Databits : 8
Parity : None
Stopbits : 1
Datatransportbesturing : Xon/Xoff

Turn on you DreamBox.

You should get the following text on your screen:

Dreambox DM7000
loaded at: 00500000 006061F8
relocated to: 00400000 005061F8
board data at: 00503128 00503168
relocated to: 0040555C 0040559C
zimage at: 00405A98 00502280
avail ram: 00507000 02000000

Linux/PPC load: console=none root=/dev/mtdblock/0

As soon as you see the last red line, you should press BACKSPACE and erase the complete line and you should type:

console=ttyS0,115200 root=/dev/mtdblock/0

You should see a lot of activity on your screen, wait a few moments untill it stops and enter:

eraseall /dev/mtd/1

If everything was ok, the DreamBox is erased, after this reflash the DreamBox using DreamUP!!!

Sometimes pulling the plug out and wait for 1 minute will also work!!

If you see an uc0 error after Flashing, try the following:
- unplug the Dreambox and wait a few hours, then try again
- if this doesn't work. remove your harddisk and then try again
- finally Flash your Dreambox with an original Dream Image and send the box to your dealer!

That the bootloader is corrupt is mostly the reason due to a not recommended harddisk.

But most of the times the main reasons are:

- flashing a wrong image
- flashing not correctly
- not using a flash erase
- etc, etc

Uploading the Image file trough the network does not work!

If you are using a network cable it is recommended that you also connect the DreamBox by using a Modem Cable. The IP adress of the DreamBox and the PC have to be in the same area e.a. correct -> PC: 192.168.1.1 DreamBox: 192.168.1.2 false -> PC: 192.168.1.1 DreamBox 192.168.0.1. (the subnetmasks have to be 255.255.255.0 on the DreamBox and the PC). For more information about connecting your DreamBox to your Network read the Howto listed above.

Check if you are able to ping your DreamBox, by entering in the Execute Box: ping "DreamBox IP" or telnet "DreamBox IP" or ftp "DreamBox IP". If you are able to connect to the Dreambox in one of these ways, the DreamBox is connected to your Local Network.
Another Solution can be to connect to the DreamBox, upload the Image file, disconnect and reconnect again and then continue with Flashing the DreamBox.

Possible Cause: The Network Connection is not fast enough online after turning your DreamBox on, there for Dream-Up Lan can not detect a network.

After editing /var/tuxbox/start_enigma or /var/etc/init the DreamBox will not start anymore!

It could be possible you made a error while typing the code, Enigma will not start anymore, or you have uploaded the file in BINAIR mode while you should have uploaded it with ASCI. The file becomes "corrupt".

To solve this problem:

Make a FLASH ERASE (press the channel up button while booting the DreamBox)

(Should this fail, try to upload new firmware)
